Kathmandu, May 3

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday held a discussion on issues that hindered the proposed unification between the parties.

Dahal went to Prime Minister Oli’s residence in Baluwatar of Kathmandu this morning to discuss the issues. Dahal’s secretariat says the two leaders will hold another meeting at 3 pm today again.

The two parties are yet to forge agreement on the election symbol of unified party, ratio of two parties in organisational structures in the unified party, and mention of ‘people’s war’ in its statute.

The UML and the Maoist Centre were scheduled to hold internal discussions on the issues yesterday. Whereas Dahal told his party’s Central Secretariat to make preparations for the unification, the UML postponed its scheduled Standing Committee meeting.
