Chitwan, August 2
Vehicular movement along the Narayngadh-Muglin road in Chitwan district has been obstructed as at least two landslides blocked the vital road connecting Kathmandu Valley with the East-West Highway in the wee hours of Thursday.
Landslides blocked the road at Ghumanune and Jalbire at around 4 am today.
The District Police Office says the landslide at Ghumaune, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 is bigger between two. It will take some more time as the landslide debris also contains a large rock, according to police.
However, the debris has been partly cleared at Jalbire, Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-6 and one-way traffic has resumed. Facilitating the two-way traffic will take some more time here as well.
Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded halfway on both the sides due to the obstruction.
