Kathmandu, May 27
Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has expressed his hope that multiple explosions and a nationwide general strike planned and executed by the Maoist outfit led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ might help the party and the government start talks.
Reiterating that both the sides do not have any alternative to seeking solutions through the talks, Dahal claims recent violence would be the last of such activities.
Speaking with journalists at Biratnagar Airport in Morang district on Monday, he said, “Whatever he has done recently including these bands, perhaps they were for creating an environment of talks. This is my understanding.”
He claimed that the government would lift ban on the party if it joined the talks’ table.
The former prime minister said everyone should walk together towards prosperity and development citing minor violent activities would not affect political stability.
