Two persons have died after a pick-up truck they were travelling on fell off the road in Ichchhakamana rural municipality-4 of Chitwan district on Thursday morning.
One person, Mukunda Bahadur Roka, managed to swim back to safety, but he is also injured in the accident. One is still missing.
The truck (Lu 1 Cha 9731) heading towards Kathmandu from Pyuthan had fallen off the road near Nagdi Khola of Chitwan at around 5:30 this morning. The road is around 60 metres above the river.
The truck was carrying a 15-year-old sick girl, Jinisa Roka, for her treatment in Kathmandu, according to her father Mukunda. She is still missing.
Mukunda’s wife, Jamuna, 33, and truck driver, Surya KC, 23, have been found dead.
DSP Surya Thapa of the District Police Office says Nepal Police and Nepal Army personnel are searching for the missing girl. The injured man is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur College of Medical Sciences in Chitwan.
