The government has decided to discourage deploying private companies to transport its own supplies.

A meeting of the National Problem Solution Committee under the National Planning Commission made the decision. The committee says Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited under the Ministry of Industry will be mobilised to transport government supplies.

The decision reads, “The cost has increased while supplying goods by private suppliers as the government-owned supply company is already there. Now onwards, the supplies during import and export should be made by Transit and Warehousing Company.”

Besides reducing the cost, mobilising the government company does not require additional insurance cost whereas the company also has infrastructures for the import and export, it has been learned.
