Dhangadhi, May 5
The death toll in a road accident in Pancheshwar rural municipality-6 of the Baitadi district in Sudurpaschim on Tuesday has reached five.
Five others are injured.
Four persons had died on the spot while one breathed his last while being taken to a hospital.
The victims have identified as Hikmat Bhandari (27), Dammar Singh Bhandari (30), Deepak Bhandari (40), and Jit Singh Bhandari (50), all residents of Pancheshwar rural municipality-6 of the district, informs the District Police Office spokesperson Darshan Khadka..
In addition, the vehicle’s driver Tej Bahadur Bohora, 45, a resident of Dashrath Chand municipality of the district succumbed to critical injuries while being taken to the District Hospital for treatment.
The injured are undergoing treatment there.

4 killed as SUV carrying corpse falls off Baitadi road
Dhangadhi, May 4
Four persons died when an SUV carrying a corpse towards the funeral site has fallen off the road in Pancheshwar rural municipality-6 of the Baitadi district in Sudurpaschim on Tuesday.
The vehicle (Se 1 Ja 183) was carrying the body of Govinda Bhandari, a member of ward 6 committee of the Pancheshwar local government. Bhandari had died after being hit by a lightning strike.
Police said the vehicle fell off the road at local Ganameshwar Mode.
The victims are yet to be identified and other details are awaited.
