Kathmandu, May 24
One person has been arrested on the charge of manufacturing and selling substandard hand sanitiser, in Lalitpur on Monday.
The arrestee has been identified as Durga Bhattarai, 23, who reportedly learned the trick of manufacturing sanitiser from the internet.
A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested Bhattarai after raiding the suspect’s factory at Lalitpur metropolitan city-10, informs SP Krishna Koirala of the division.
“The manufacturer has not obtained a licence to produce sanitiser,” Koirala says.
Also on Sunday, the division had raided three sanitiser factories on the charge of producing substandard goods.
Police say they will be charged under the Black-marketing Act, 1975.
