Four key bikes and scooters to watch
1. Radeon 110
TVS Radeon is a near-perfect commuter bike that is powered by a 109.7cc BS6 engine that generates a power of 8 bhp and a torque of 8.7 Nm. While alloy wheels and electric start are standard, the front disc is offered only with the celebratory special edition. The bike comes with 15 per cent more mileage and improved stability that makes it start in all conditions. Enhanced engine performance, smoother ride, low maintenance, and malfunction indicator are other notable features. The bike also has an improved engine life with a super-strong box iron chassis.
2. Ntorq
TVS Ntorq is one of the most popular scooters in Nepal of late. The stealth aircraft-inspired design, powerful engine, and smooth handling make the scooter popular in no time among the youth.
Ntorq is Nepal’s first Bluetooth-connected scooter. It is also powerful as it goes from 0-60 kilometres in just nine seconds. It is also the first scooter with a three-valve technology and a SmartXonnect system. With SmartXconnect, users will get navigation assist, last parked location, and caller id. Some notable features of this vehicle are a USB charging port with boot light, gaming console-inspired instrument cluster, and sport stubby muffler. Ntorq has varieties of scooters within the series.
3. Apache RTR 160
One of the best bikes in the under-Rs300,000 category, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V generates a max power of 16.62PS at 8000 rpm and a max torque of 14.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. It uses a combination of oil-cooling and air-assist cooling. Apache RTR 160 features a race-theme refined engine, excellent comfort, and best-in-segment performance. The bike gets its outlook and most of its features from its older sibling, Apache RTR 200. The bike is pretty fast and can go from 0-60 km in just 4.2 seconds. Along with the speed, the handling of the bike is also pretty comfortable and the bike has very good suspensions that make riding comfortable in every pitch condition.
4. Apache RR 310
Apache RR310 is the fastest bike from the brand in Nepal. Specially designed for a solo rider, you might have to be extra careful if you are riding with a pillion rider. The RR 310 comes with a total of four riding modes – rain, urban, sport, and track. These modes offer different setups, based on the engine power/response and ABS.
If you are a speed freak, this is the bike for you. It reaches a top speed of 160 kmph and can go 0-60kmph in just 2.93 seconds. It also has SmartX connect system that displays race telemetry, ride planning, navigation assist, telephony and auxiliary dashboard.
