Former prime minister Jhala Nath Khanal has undergone a successful kidney transplant at the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The senior leader of the CPN-UML, with both of his kidneys failing, had gone to the Indian health facility on June 16 for treatment. A family source informs he underwent a kidney transplant today.
In the meantime, there had come a report that the KP Sharma Oli-led government already released Rs 3 million for his treatment, illegally. Further, incumbent Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had also reportedly assured him of government funding.
