Kathmandu, December 28
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal had earlier announced that a calibration flight would take place at the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi in December.
However, the flight could not take place this month.
Although the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd (AEROTHAI), the company selected for the flight, had already started a study for the project, the flight could not take place.
Whereas there are some speculations that the schedule was delayed due to some pressure from India, officials in the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal say that is not the case.
CAAN Director Pradeep Adhikari says the calibration flight could not take place as the AEROTHAI team suggested additional improvements for the flight.
“Two major works are going on there,” he says, “The flight will take place once they are over.”
