Kathmandu, November 29
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to embark on an official visit to China on December 2, accompanied by an 87-member delegation. The team includes 39 government officials and 48 representatives from the private sector.
The delegation list was finalised during a cabinet meeting held Thursday evening, according to a ministerial source.
Among the government officials accompanying the Prime Minister are his wife Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, and Economic Advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada.
Opposition lawmakers Arjun Narasingh KC and Shyam Kumar Ghimire from the Nepali Congress, UML MPs Lilanath Shrestha and Bijula Rayamajhi, and Rekha Sharma from the Maoist Center are also part of the team. Additionally, MPs Birendra Prasad Mahato, Deepak Karki, Sarbendra Nath Shukla, and Ranjita Shrestha are included.
Key officials such as Chief Secretary Eka Narayan Aryal, Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire, Acting Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and CEO of the Investment Board Sushil Gyawali will also join the delegation. Padma Sundar Joshi, Vice-Chair of the Madan Bhandari Science and Technology University, is part of the team.
Other notable members include the Prime Minister’s personal physician Prof. Dr. Divya Singh Shah, Principal Secretary Rajesh Bajracharya, and several officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Krishna Prasad Dhakal, head of the Northeast Asia Division, and Chief of Protocol Bishnu Prasad Gautam.
Personal aides to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, along with other secretarial staff and protocol officers, will also accompany the delegation.
Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba has already travelled to China to finalise preparations for the visit. She is expected to return to Nepal on Saturday before accompanying the Prime Minister to China again.
Prime Minister Oli will engage in high-level meetings in Beijing on December 3 as part of his official visit.
