Pokhara, March 29
Actor Paul Shah, who is in judicial custody in the Tanahun district of Gandaki on the charge of raping a minor, has filed an appeal at the Pokhara High Court on Tuesday demanding he is released.
Earlier last week, the Tanahun District Court had ordered the police to keep Shah in custody until the final verdict on the case although it had released his manager Krishna Joshi on a Rs 100,000 bail.
In his appeal, Shah has claimed the district court’s order is faulty, informs the high court’s information officer Bishnu Prasad Acharya. “Now, the court will hear the case, focusing on whether the district court’s order was faulty,” Acharya says, “If it’s found wrong, he will be ordered to get released.”
But, the Nawalpur District Court in the same province is also hearing a similar case. The court is yet to decide whether to keep Paul Shah in custody or release him.
