Kathmandu, April 27
Children and child rights activists in the Konjosyom rural municipality submitted a memorandum to local election candidates in the local unit, demanding they address child rights concerns once elected.
In an event held on Wednesday, they expressed their concerns that they want political parties to address ahead of the local elections.
In response, the candidates also expressed their commitment to respecting child rights.
The Konjyosom advocacy and monitoring team organised the interaction with major political parties in the city to inform the leaders of their expectations from the leadership to be elected during the polls.
The children also submitted the memorandum to the leaders of CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party who were present there.
Patan CBR, Yuwalaya and Loo Niva were co-organisers of the event.
