Kathmandu, May 9

The government is preparing to close land borders for three days since Tuesday midnight, targeting local elections.

The Ministry of Home Affairs says the land border points connecting India and China will be closed from Tuesday midnight to Friday midnight to ensure security for the voting to be held across the nation this Friday.

The ministry informs that all district administration offices in districts bordering India and China have already been informed of the ministry’s decision.

The international airport, however, will not be closed as the movement via airports is easy to regulate.
