Raymotoss is the latest name in the electric scooter segment in Nepal. Bhawani Shankar Motors is the authorised distributor of Raymotoss electric scooters in Nepal and is currently offering two models —Raymotoss Rider X1 and Raymotoss Rayo X1, with contrasting designs, compared to each other. One has carried the old-fashioned scooter type looks while the other one flaunts the current trending modern looks. Nonetheless, both scooters share identical specifications that do not look impressive overall.

The scooter features alloy wheels with a tyre size of 10 inches at both ends. The tyres on this scooter are tubeless and of the same size. For the suspension used on the scooter, the front is a telescopic suspension and has a dual-tube spring hydraulic shocker at the back. For safety, the scooter has disc brakes at the front and a drum at the rear end.
Other useful features of the scooter include:

Raymotoss Rayo X1 flaunts a modern design especially used by electric scooters these days. It has a slimmer body compared to the Ridder X1. It measures 1900mm in length and has a seat height of 720mm, which should be comfortable for most people. It also features LED lights on both headlights and taillights. It also has a daytime running light, which is also an LED. It has a ground clearance of 140mm and it is decent for city rides but can be a problem while riding on different surfaces.
With 800W peak power, brushless BLDC Rayo X1 features a 60V 24AH lithium-ion Trontek battery. The battery gets fully charged from 0-100 per cent in about 4.5 hours and there is no provision for fast charging. A fully charged battery can give a range of up to 70km, which means long rides are not possible with this scooter.
Rayo X1 features alloy wheels with 3.00-10 sized tubeless tyres. The telescopic suspension at the front and dual tube spring type hydraulic shocker at the back should allow the scooter to manage itself on rough surfaces. The disc and drum braking combination should be good enough for the city rides but there could have been a better setup.
Rayo X1 also includes features like:
- USB mobile charging
- Digital display with LCD screen
- Remote on/off
- Break sensor
- Centre locking with anti-theft alarm
- Keyless start
- Find my scooter
- Gear system
- Seat reset
The price of Raymotoss Rayo X1 is Rs 234,308. The warranty features are the same on this scooter as well. The scooter gets either three years or 30,000 km (whichever comes first) in the battery and a motor warranty of two years.
Verdict
Nothing so exciting about Raymotoss scooters… The scooters feature the same old and boring designs seen on other scooters. While the scooters are light, they do not feature any other exciting features that make the people go for them. They only offer mediocre performance and the range is not that great either. One really needs to reconsider before taking the scooter for a ride. Also, the charging time is 4.5 hours and does not support fast charging. A fast charging feature or an improved mileage would have definitely influenced the buyer.
In a similar price range, Pure EV’s ETrance Neo would definitely be a better alternative as it provides not only better looks but also better features.
