Kathmandu, July 8
A man died after being hit by a truck in Changunarayan of Bhaktapur, east of the Kathmandu valley, on Thursday night.
The victim has been identified as Madhav Basnet, a resident of Sallaghari in the Bhaktapur district. His scooter (Ba 67 Pa 8422) was hit by a minitruck (Ba 5 Kha 5423) last night, seriously injuring him, according to police.
Basnet died during treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
Police say the two vehicles had collided as the two-wheeler tried to overtake.
The law enforcers arrested the truck driver for further investigation and action.
