Tecno Spark 8C has been officially launched in Nepal as one of the many budget smartphones released by the company this year. Pova Neo was the company’s last smartphone launched over a month ago.
Tecno Spark 8C, a budget offering from Tecno, comes with a flamboyant design and a basic display with a faster refresh rate than most of its competitors. The phone comes up with a decent battery backup and some basic cameras for photos and videos.

Design and display
Tecno Spark 8C comes with a flashy design, which is sure to get your attention. The phone comes with a glass front, a plastic back and a plastic frame build. The back panel of the phone has a vertical texture design coming from the top to the bottom with a big “stop at nothing” writing. The camera module is also huge on this phone and houses two camera sensors, an LED flash and also a fingerprint sensor. Well, the design on the back panel indicates it is seeking attention, but it is not sure if people would really opt to purchase it.
Tecno Spark 8C measures 9 mm in thickness whereas the actual weight of the phone is not revealed yet. It is available in turquoise, magnet black, Iris purple and diamond grey colour options.
On the front is a 6.6-inch IPS LCD dot-notch display offering a resolution of 720*1,612 pixels with a 267 PPI density. Its display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which is rare on a smartphone in this price range.
Cameras
Tecno Spark 8C comes with some basic camera settings. The 13MP primary camera on the back of the phone is 27mm wide and has an aperture of f/1.8. It is accompanied by a secondary QVGA sensor. Similarly, on the front is an 8MP selfie shooter, which also comes with an LED flash for bright pictures even during night or low light conditions. For the video, the primary camera can record up to 1080p resolution at 30fps.
Performance and storage
Tecno Spark 8C runs on HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11 (Go edition). The phone is powered by Unisoc T606 (12nm) chipset. It also has a super boost feature, which when enabled boosts the performance of the phone.
The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The user can further expand the storage with an external memory card. Similarly, the memory fusion mode on the phone allows it to mobilise idle memory to improve the overall running speed for a smooth experience.
Battery life, connectivity and others
Tecno Spark 8C is backed by a 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery. This is a decent power and with it, the phone should last for days under normal use. The phone only gets a 10W charger.
The phone supports dual sims with up to 4G network connectivity. Similarly, it also has GPS support, NFC support, FM radio and Bluetooth for wireless pairing. A micro USB 2.0 cable is used for charging and wired pairing. For the audio, the phone offers a speaker as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The price of Tecno Spark 8C is Rs 14,990 for the 3/64 GB variant.
