Kathmandu, May 7
Ten Indian nationals have been arrested on the charge of obtaining Nepali citizenship.
SSP Manoj KC, the chief of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, says 10 residents of Uttar Pradesh in India have been found to have obtained Nepal’s citizenship certificates from bordering districts such as Parsa, Bara, Siraha and Rupandehi.
They were arrested in Kalanki, Shankhamul and Patan of the Kathmandu valley recently after three months of investigation. They were found to have been doing various businesses in Nepal.
The police say they also seized various Nepali and Indian documents from their possession.
