Gau Aaeko Bato: A Road to Village, directed by Nabin Subba, has been selected for the prestigious Busan International Film Festival which will be held in Busan, South Korea from October 4 to October 13.
The film has been selected in the Window of Asia category on its website.
The film is being premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada on Thursday.
Producer Amod Rai said it was an honour to be selected at Busan and added it was an important milestone for Nepali storytelling on the international stage.
Busan, however, has not mentioned the screening date of the film. However, producer Rai said the film’s Asian premiere will take during the festival. He added all the actors, producers and directors will be present at the festival in Korea.
The movie revolves around the challenges and changes in the father-son relationship when a road is built in their village. The storyline is centred on the idea of communal investment and features prominent actors such as Dayahang Rai and Pashupati Rai. The film was filmed in the regions of Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, and Dharan.
