The government has decided to provide Rs 200,000 per person as immediate relief to those who died due to the earthquake that struck Jajarkot on Friday night.
This was decided by a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singha Durbar on Sunday morning.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma said this assistance is the first immediate relief phase.
Similarly, she said the Cabinet paid tribute to the deceased persons and decided to expedite the rescue and relief works and to provide free medical treatment to those injured in the earthquake.
So far, 157 people have been reported dead in Jajarkot and Rukum West following the 6.4 magnitude earthquake on Friday.
