Kathmandu, November 30
Nepal Airlines flight RA 229 flew to Dubai on Wednesday leaving behind 31 passengers.
The flight, with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on board, left for Dubai two hours before its scheduled time leaving behind 31 passengers.
Nepal Airlines said that passengers were unable to board the flight due to the VVIP Flight, as Prime Minister Dahal was departing Nepal to attend COP 28 in Dubai.
The Nepal Airlines flight to Dubai was rescheduled two hours earlier as the original departure time of 11.30 pm was changed to 9.30 pm. As Nepal Airlines did not inform the passengers, many missed their flight.
Advocate Prajwol Bickram Rana, who was unable to board the Dubai-bound flight criticised Nepal Airlines for its negligence. He said it was wrong how the airline failed to provide advance notice of the revised flight time.
“We arrived at the airport at 8.30 pm on Wednesday but were not allowed to enter because the flight time was up. Nepal Airlines was negligent in not even informing us that the flight was preponed,” he said.
Sating how careless Nepal Airlines was, he has called on the relevant authority to take action against the airlines.
Rana said the airline staff had assured him that he would be sent to Dubai on an alternate flight on Thursday.
