NEPSE:Stock market drops to 2,667 points

On the first trading day of the week, Sunday, Nepal’s stock market index, NEPSE, dropped by 13.03 points to close at 2,667 points. The trading volume also declined, with transactions totalling Rs 7.72 billion compared to Rs 8.25 billion on the previous trading day.

While the stock prices of 55 companies rose, 181 saw declines, and 8 remained unchanged. Among the market sectors, only the Investment and Manufacturing groups showed gains, with increases of 0.08 per cent and 0.68 per cent, respectively.

Other sectors experienced declines, including Banking (0.54%), Development Banks (1.63%), Finance (0.37%), Hotels and Tourism (0.49%), and Hydropower (0.41%). The Life Insurance sector dropped by 0.55%, Microfinance by 0.94%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.17%, Others by 0.71%, and Trading by 0.07%.

Among individual stocks, Three Star Hydropower posted the highest gain of 9.91%, followed by Ngadi Group (9.58%), Janaki Finance (8.07%), NRNA Infrastructure (6.61%), Samudayik Laghubitta (6.60%), Best Finance (6.10%), and Sanjen Hydropower (3.86%).

Conversely, Mahuli Laghubitta saw a price drop of 6.30%, Narayani Development Bank fell by 5.80%, Nepal Finance decreased by 5.34%, and Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta declined by 5%.

In terms of trading volume, Janaki Finance, NRNA Infrastructure, Ngadi Group, Best Finance, and Rasuwagadhi Hydropower led the market.
