NEPSE rises to 2,743 points, trading volume declines

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 3.14 points on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, closing at 2,743 points. However, the total trading volume declined.

Compared to the previous day’s turnover of Rs 10.43 billion, today’s trading amounted to Rs 8.62 billion.

A total of 81 companies saw their stock prices increase, while 158 declined, and five remained unchanged. The life insurance sector performed well, gaining 2.42%. The trading sector recorded the highest growth of 3.77%, driven by a rise in Vishal Bazaar Company’s stock.

Other sectors that gained included non-life insurance (0.64%) and others (0.57%). The decline in sectors remained below 1%, with banking down by 0.55%, development banks by 0.52%, finance by 0.17%, hotels and tourism by 0.31%, hydropower by 0.75%, investment by 0.37%, manufacturing by 0.81%, and microfinance by 0.30%.

Guardian Micro Life Insurance recorded the highest gain of 10%, followed by Win Nepal Microfinance (9.69%), Upper Hewakhola (9.14%), Laxmi Microfinance (8.21%), and Upakar Microfinance (8.1%).

On the losing side, Barahi Hydropower dropped by 8.35%, Bhugol Energy by 5.78%, and Divyashwori Hydropower by 4.12%.

In terms of trading volume, Nepal Reinsurance Company, Himalayan Reinsurance, CEDB Holdings, NRN Infrastructure, and Narayani Development Bank led the market.
