Kathmandu, March 30
The government has told the hospitals in Kathmandu Valley which have higher than the 50-bed capacity to admit emergency patients only so that they can provide services to COVID-19 patients whenever necessary.
The Ministry of Health and Population made the directive, urging the hospitals to implement it till April 12. The hospitals have been directed to refer other cases which do not require immediate checkup and operation to smaller hospitals.
The bigger hospitals have been warned against sending COVID-19 suspected patients to other hospitals. Meanwhile, the government said the hospitals should provide a separate residential facility to the doctors and health workers involved in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
