Cadres affiliated to Biplav’s Maoist party vandalised a bus belonging to Oxford College based in Gaindakot of Nawalparasi on Sunday. They vented their ire on the bus as the college administration did not allow them to “conduct political activities inside the college”. About five motorcycleborne cadres vandalised the bus numbered Na 1 Ka 3806 that was in Danda, Kawasoti municipality-16, to pick college students, and fled the scene, local people said.
Shiva Dumre, district coordinator of ANNISU-R, has taken responsibility for the act. He accused the college of cheating students, charging more than government-fixed fees, conducting academic activities without getting affiliation and not letting student unions engage in politics in the college.
Police said they have recovered pamphlets with eight-point demands from the incident site.
