Biratnagar, August 25
Biratnagar High Court has issued an interim order to Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang telling him not to enter people’s private property without their permission.
The order was issued by a bench of Judge Dinesh Prasad Yadav has also ordered Sampang not to arrest the people.
Roshan Adhikari and Rojina Adhikari, landowners, submitted a writ petition to the High Court, alleging misconduct by Sampang. In the petition, the couple stated Sampang asked the police to arrest them.
Sampang, on August 20, conducted a reforestation drive in Morang danda. The couple has been claiming the land to be theirs but Sampang said he planted trees on public land.
Sampang had visited the land on August 21 after which an argument broke out between him and the couple which went viral on social media.
Following the tussle, Sampang filed a complaint against the couple stating they misbehaved with him.
