Birgunj, September 28
A man has died after drowning in an irrigation dam in Jitpur in Bara on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Bhagawan Kagi Karki from Jitpur Simara sub-metropolitan city-1.
Karki had gone to the dam for a swim at around 11 am, says the Bara District Police Office spokesperson DSP Gautam Mishra. The dam was made for irrigation purposes.
Having seen him disappear, locals tried to look for him, but, they could not locate him.
Karki’s body was recovered by the police after locals told them about the incident. They are still investigating the case further.
