Closed session of 13th NC general convention set to start

CONGRESS-BANER

Kathmandu, March 4

The closed session of the Nepali Congress’ 13th general convention is starting at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, on Friday.  At the session, there will be discussions on the party’s policies and programmes as well as organisational reports.

There’s a general impression that the GC’s focus is on selection of the party leadership, rather than policy-making.

Altogether 3,188 representatives, including 2,880 representatives from 240 electoral constituencies, 98 representatives from sister and like-minded organisations, 126 representatives from 17 liaison committees based abroad and 84 central working committee members, are taking part in the grand jamboree.

These representatives will elect party President, General Secretary, Treasurer and CWC members for a period of four years, on March 6.
