The Kalikot District Administration Office on Monday lifted the indefinite curfew clamped in Kalikot district headquarters, Manma, that continued since Friday evening.
The Office had decided to impose the curfew as locals intensified protests demanding action against the guilty and compensation to the victim’s family in relation to the death of a retiring temporary policeman on Friday.
However, surroundings of the District Administration Office remain to be restricted zone, according to the Office.
Meanwhile, a probe team formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs has begun its task today. MoHA Joint-Secretary Man Bahadur BK has reached Manma for the investigation.
The panel is scheduled to consult stakeholders about the incident today.
The government has already decided to provide Rs 1 million ex-gratia to the family.
