Kailali, October 19
Police in Darchula district of far-western Nepal have arrested a man in possession of yarsagumba , a precious fungus used for medicinal purposes, that was collected illegally.
The confiscated herb is worth Rs 15.759 million, according to the District Police Office.
It has been learned that Dokar Lama was allowed by authorities to collect 10-kilogram yarsagumba only, but he was found in possession with 17 kg of the herb.
DPO Chief Padam Bista says Lama has been sent to the Division Forest Office in the district for further investigation and action.
