Kathmandu, March 11
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwar Pokharel has called top leaders of all parties represented in the federal parliament to a meeting this afternoon.
Sources say the DPM called the meeting to discuss the next strategies to cope with the likely spread of the novel coronavirus in the country. He heads a high-level team formed by the government to protect the country and its people from the global epidemic. As Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is currently in the hospital, Pokharel has been coordinating the regular government activities though he has not been given the responsibility of officiating prime minister.
The meeting will convene at the Prime Minister’s Office, Singhadarbar at 3 pm on Wednesday.
