Kathmandu, April 23
The Election Commission has said it is ready to hold local level elections in two phases, but has set three conditions for the same.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today, the election commissioners demanded that the voters’ list, the voter identity cards and the ballot papers prepared for single phase polls be used for the two-phase model as well.
Before endorsing the agreement reached between the ruling parties and the agitating Madheshi Morcha from the Cabinet meeting today, PM Dahal had summoned Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav and other commissioners to his residence in Baluwatar for a meeting.
