Kathmandu, May 11
The United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR, has expressed deep concerns over the recently surfaced fake Bhutanese refugee scam, welcoming the government investigation.
The agency has also clarified that its programme to resettle Bhutanese refugees in third countries in Europe and the Americas is already closed from December 31, 2016, and there is no plan to resume it.
The agency says it has already communicated with government authorities and stakeholders about the closure of the programme.
