Nepalgunj, April 7
Fire has been raging at Kusum, Khaskushma village development committee-1 in Banke district, since 1.45 pm on Thursday. The fire has already destroyed seven houses and sheds. So far, there have been no human casualties.
The flames started from the house of Jog Bahadur Pun, which is close to the Dapariya Stream along the East-West Highway. Strong winds are fanning the fire. Local people and security personnel are struggling to extinguish the fire.
The incident site is around 68 kilometres north of Banke district headquarters Nepalgunj.
Police said a fire engine has been rushed from Nepalgunj to put out the blaze.
