Gold prices reach record high in Nepal

Kathmandu, March 28

Gold prices in Nepal have hit an all-time high, setting a new record within a week.

On Friday, the price of gold surged by NPR 1,400 per tola compared to the previous day. The yellow metal, which was traded at NPR 174,800 per tola on Thursday, climbed to Rs 176,002 per tola—the highest price recorded so far in the country.

The previous record was set on March 20, when gold reached Rs 176,000 per tola.

Meanwhile, silver prices also saw an uptick, increasing by Rs 20 per tola. Silver, which was priced at Rs 2,020 per tola on Thursday, is now being traded at Rs 2,040 per tola.

Experts attribute the price hike to global market trends, currency fluctuations, and increasing investor demand for precious metals.
