Govt plans to endorse Medical Education Bill from Upper House Thursday

Kathmandu, January 31

The government is preparing to endorse the controversial National Medical Education Bill from the National Assembly on Thursday afternoon.

The Upper House meeting has been called for 2 pm today.

The House of Representatives had endorsed the bill from the House of Representatives on Friday last week amidst a strong protest of the opposition party.

Therefore, the main opposition party, Nepali Congress has decided to continue obstructing meetings of both houses today as well.

Meanwhile, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Tham Maya Thapa, Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Minister for Communications Gokul Prasad Banskota and Minister for Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet are scheduled to table bills on senior citizens, pension, advertising and illegal wildlife trade respectively during the Upper House meeting today.
