Kathmandu, February 17
The government is planning to establish an information communications technology laboratory in each of 2,300 community schools spread across the country.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Paudel, says the government would establish labs at all the schools at the same time.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu, Paudel said the ministry aims to establish these labs by 2025.
He also added that the government was working to ensure that community schools across the country had proper infrastructure. Works are also underway to improve the standards of these community schools, he said.
“The process of the ICT lab will start soon. We will also be constructing new buildings at the schools that don’t have proper infrastructure. To do this, we’ve already started work with concerned stakeholders,” says Paudel.
Paudel also said that the government was planning to add 18,000 more teachers at these community schools to improve their standard.
