Kathmandu, November 23
Fair-price shops opened by the government-run Food Management and Trading Company will continue their operation until Maghi, an ethnic festival to be celebrated on January 14, 2021.
The company says it decided to extend the service as the shops did not sell well during Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals.
“The previous decision of operating the fair-price shops up to the next day of Chhath has been corrected. Now, the shops will open until January 15,” the company’s information officer Sharmila Neupane informs.
All 46 outlets that were functioning before Dashain will continue functioning until then.
The company says it sold foodstuffs weighing 10,027 quintals in total as of Sunday since the beginning of the fair-price shops October 1.
