An 83-year-old woman died in a fire in the Gulmi district of Lumbini on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Pavitra Khatri, a resident of Maldi, Isma rural municipality-1 of the district, according to the ward chairperson Sher Bahadur Kunwar.
A fire ignited when the woman was cooking for herself and it spread to her body in no seconds, according to the police.
Seriously injured in the accident, Khatri was rushed to the District Hospital, which referred the case to Palpa. But, she breathed her last on the way.
It has been learned that the woman would stay in Maldi alone.
