Birgunj, January 7
A corpse of a man has been found in Birgunj on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Muktar Miya, a resident of Kolkata in India.
Miya used to operate an e-rickshaw in Birgunj.
Miya’s body was found at a canal behind Narayani Vayodha Hospital on Thursday afternoon, informs the District Police Office, Parsa.
Police suspect Miya was murdered as he had bruises on his head. They also found blood all over the crime scene. He had been missing with his e-rickshaw since Wednesday evening.
The body has been sent for postmortem, after which the police will know the real cause of death.
“The location where we found the body is quite isolated. It looks like murder, but we’ll know more after the postmortem,” says the spokesperson of the District Police Office, DSP Om Prakash Khanal.
