Kathmandu, April 29
Local people have demanded establishment of a hospital close to the famous Muktinath Temple in Jomsom, Mustang.
Dr Bhola Rijal, who is also chief of the Muktinath Aradhana Parishad, a council of Muktinath devotees, said discussions are going on with the locals about the possibility of opening a hospital on the religious-spiritiual site.
The demand for a hospital at the place is growing because a large number of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the temple every year.
Meanwhile, Dr Rijal said they are in talks with stakeholders on upgrading a health facility in operation in Muktinath. The council has been running the facility. Thanks to an increasing number of pilgrims, the health facility has not been able to cater to the pilgrims’ health needs.
“We are holding talks with all concerned on building a hospital, keeping in mind the demand for upgradation of the existing health facility,” Rijal said.
