The Medical Education Commission has increased the tuition fee for the bachelor’s level for the 2022-23 session.
A meeting of the commission on Tuesday decided to increase fees by 3.6 per cent, informs the commission’s member-secretary Dr Bhoj Raj Kafle.
“We have decided to increase the fees based on the inflation per cent of the past few years,” he said.
The commission had set a ceiling of Rs 4.02 million for an MBBS course within the valley for the academic session 2021-22. Now, students wanting to study MBBS in Kathmandu will have to pay Rs 4.16 million. Medical colleges outside the valley can charge up to Rs 4.59 million for the forthcoming session, informs Kafle.
Similarly, fees for bachelor’s in dental studies (BDS) have also gone up as students will have to pay up to Rs 2.09 million and those pursuing a bachelor’s in nursing will have to pay up to Rs 1.36 million.
