Kathmandu, August 19
A meeting of the Industry and Commerce, and Labour and Consumers Welfare Committee in the House of Representatives scheduled for today was put off.
The meeting was summoned as it sought to complete discussions on the Industrial Enterprise Bill, 2075 and endorse it. But the committee failed to implement the schedule due to the absence of the line minister.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Matrika Prasad Yadav could not be present in the meeting as he was currently outside the Kathmandu Valley, according to committee secretary Krishna Hari Khadka.
Total 17 lawmakers including Gagan Kumar Thapa, Prem Suwal, and Min Bahadur Bishwakarma have registered 59 amendment proposals to the bill which is said to create a good investment-friendly atmosphere in the country.
