Ministry confirms no damage to important documents in Singha Durbar fire

Kathmandu, February 9

The Ministry of Water Supply has confirmed that no essential documents were damaged in the fire that broke out at Singha Durbar on Saturday.

In a press release, Ministry Under-Secretary Bhaktaraj Joshi assured that the ministry’s critical documents remained unharmed. Following the incident, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, and Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav, along with senior ministry officials and security agency heads, inspected the site and assessed the situation.

The fire was swiftly brought under control within 15 minutes with the combined efforts of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, ministry employees, and fire engines.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The ministry reassured that all essential documents remain intact and that necessary safety measures are being taken to prevent future incidents.
