Following a gene-sequencing test conducted on the 250 samples, 24 samples tested positive for the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
The ministry also urged all hospitals to get ready for a surge in Covid-19 cases and asked them to manage necessary items like oxygen and other health supplies.
