Kathmandu, January 24

Twenty-four new Omicorn cases of Covid-19 have been found in Nepal, the Ministry of Health and Population says on Friday.

Issuing a press release, the Health Ministry informs that among the 1,143 sample positive cases of Covid-19 recorded in the past three weeks, 250 samples reported S-Gene negative (SGTF). Following a gene-sequencing test conducted on the 250 samples, 24 samples tested positive for the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

The ministry also urged all hospitals to get ready for a surge in Covid-19 cases and asked them to manage necessary items like oxygen and other health supplies.
