Kathmandu, October 30

Nepal added Rs 359 billion to its trade deficit in the last three months, according to the Department of Customs data.

According to the department’s data made public on Sunday, the trade deficit increased by Rs 359.178 billion from mid-July to mid-October, the first three months of the fiscal year.

In these three months, Nepal imported goods worth Rs 400.99 billion while the worth of exports was restricted to just Rs 41.82 billion. In the first three months, the imports have gone down by 16.2 per cent, but the exports have decreased by a massive 35.71 per cent.
