Kathmandu, March 1
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,529 as of Tuesday afternoon.
The ministry said 158 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 4,458 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 92 returned positive. Likewise, 2,046 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 66 tested positive.
Of total tests, 2.06 per cent of the PCR and 3.22 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.42 per cent.
As of today, there are 7,917 active cases across the country. Of them, 198 are hospitalised, 75 in intensive care units and 8 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 354 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were two deaths today.
Of the total cases so far, 9576,167 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,938 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, 108,140 people were vaccinated today.
