Nepal Covid-19 tally: 570 new cases, 1,993 recoveries, 6 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,113,107 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 570 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,028 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 364 returned positive. Likewise, 2,761 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 206 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.17 per cent of the PCR and 7.46 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.82 per cent.

As of today, there are 16,616 active cases across the country. Of them, 669 are hospitalised, 151 in intensive care units and 26 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,993 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 6 deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 946,330 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,911 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, 164,475 people were vaccinated today.
