The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,112,537 as of Wednesday afternoon.
The ministry said 639 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 6,782 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 454 returned positive. Likewise, 2,974 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 185 tested positive.
Of total tests, 6.69 per cent of the PCR and 6.22 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 6.54 per cent.
As of today, there are 18,251 active cases across the country. Of them, 671 are hospitalised, 156 in intensive care units and 26 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,600 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were 3 deaths today.
Of the total cases so far, 944,337 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,905 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.3 per cent.
Meanwhile, 214,103 people were vaccinated today.
