The Ministry of Health and Population says it has confirmed a new Covid-19 case in the country, taking the country’s tally to 246.
A 49-year-old man in Devchuli municipality of Nawalpur district tested positive, according to the ministry’s joint spokesperson Sameer Kumar Adhikari. His test was carried out at a lab in Bharatpur of Chitwan.

(Updated) Ministry says number of Covid-19 patients hasn’t crossed 245

The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed that the number of coronavirus positive cases has not crossed 245 in the country.
The ministry ‘corrected’ its statement that 250 Covid-19 patients have been confirmed in just two and a half hours.
The ministry had issued the first update of the day at 6:15 am today, adding two more positive cases to take the tally from 243 to 245. At 7:45 am again, another update was issued, according to which five more persons have been confirmed of infection.
But at 10:15 am, the ministry’s joint spokesperson Sameer Kumar Adhikary says those updated at 7:45 were the patients who had been confirmed of infection a few days ago.

Nepal Covid-19 tally hits 250
Kathmandu, May 14
With seven new cases confirmed on Thursday morning, the number of coronavirus infected persons in the country has reached 250.
Sameer Kumar Adhikari, the joint spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, says two people in Dhanusha and Mahottari each, and one each of Kapilvastu, Kathmandu, and Sarlahi tested positive for the virus.
